First and foremost, I want to thank every resident who supported our campaign, volunteered their time, opened their doors, shared their concerns, and believed in our vision for the future of District 1. Running for Prince George’s County Council has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
One of the biggest lessons I learned is that there are many residents who want to be involved but do not always have access to information about local elections. Many people shared with us that they did not know there was a competitive race or that I was running. That reminds us that we must continue building stronger connections throughout District 1 and finding new ways to reach every neighborhood.
Over the past several months, our team distributed more than 9,000 pieces of campaign literature, connected with thousands of residents through conversations, forums, festivals, parades, farmers markets, social media, and community events. We brought new conversations into the community and encouraged residents to become more engaged.
Instead of only focusing on signs and visibility, we chose to serve. We cleaned our communities, supported our educators and service workers, and invested our time in the people who make District 1 special.
Thank you for your trust, your encouragement, and your support. My commitment to District 1 does not end with an election. I will continue listening, serving, and advocating for the community we all call home. This journey is not over.
